He is Risen!

There is no greater gift for a parent on a Sunday morning than to sit together in worship with their adult children. Add to that a grand child in the nursery it truly makes your joy complete. It calls to mind the Sundays as a child that while we would be spending the weekend with my grandmother she was never upset that we were late to church on Sunday mornings. She would proudly walk her family down the aisle as the opening songs were being sung and as they were brought to a conclusion inevitably the pastor would take a moment to say, "Well, I see Mrs. Strawn has her family in for a visit. Welcome, we are glad to have you this morning"

This Easter was special as Tony and I were able to worship with Meagan, Jeremy, Sawyer, and Meagan's mom and her husband. It was a lovely service that spoke to what Christ's resurrection did for those who believe and it included wonderful old hymns that I had grown up singing! We always miss those who can't be with us at these special moments...

but we are always close in each others hearts. Josh sent us this picture with his Iphone just before his service started in Bentonville, Arkansas. He and Jamie were not physically with family today but from the moment the day started with the text "He is risen" they were close in in spirit and faith.

Of course, Jeremy quickly sent him this picture from his Iphone of the service we were in! My only regret was that I failed to get a picture of all of us together! I'm sure my mother and my grandmother would be quite disappointed to know that I would not have thought to get that traditional picture! And it would have been precious - Sawyer in his new outfit, Jeremy with his Easter tie, and Meagan looking beautiful with her lovely hair all put up in curls! Oh well, the picture in my minds eye turned out great and it is captured in my heart forever!! And I know Meagan got a picture of Sawyer that she'll share!!

"Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:8-11
