My momma got me a new hat for winter!

Lolly and Pops are suckers for me!

My uncle is in soup!

My pops is soooooo funny!

And I'm not sure why but my Lolly loves to snuggle me!

Ketchup

Oops! That should have said "Catch Up" as in it is time for me to get caught up in blogging! The end of summer has been an absolute blur and fall officially starts this Wednesday! I wonder if we would ever notice if the calender didn't point to the change in season!

At the beginning of August we celebrated Jeremy's 30th birthday (8/8/10) by keeping Sawyer so that the kids could go away for the weekend. He is the best baby ever and will have his very own upcoming post!!

Tony and I had let far too much time pass without getting up to see Jamie and Josh in Arkansas so when the temperatures were nice and cool (mid August - Ha!) we flew up to Northwest Arkansas and had an amazing time with Josh and Jamie. We attended a gala the first night which benefited the Arkansas Children's Hospital. The silent auction was fun and sadly we did not win the trip to Hawaii that we bid on.

Saturday, we took the kid's boat out for some good physical exercise. It was my kind of day and you haven't lived until Jamie packs a picnic lunch for you!! I still need that recipe for the chicken salad!

Also in August, we went to visit Sawyer in Austin and we're with him for his first trip to the Hula Hut. (If I look like I'm wilted, it's because my husband and I had already been doing some ancestry work in one of the local cemeteries and the humidity had taken its toll on me!) We had a good time and it's always fun when Sawyer's Aunt Amanda joins us! We love her!

Labor Day brought with it the beginning of Longhorn football season. For Tony and I it started on Friday night when the kids we have been sitting with at the games at DKR came in to town for the game and met us for dinner. Despite the fact we are old enough to be their parents we had a fun night at Beavers and a good time at the UT vs Rice game the next day. Dora had done a great job getting the tickets!

For the UT vs Wyoming game we went up a day early to visit our kids in Austin and on a whim drove up to Wimberly to have lunch the day of the game. Sawyer had his longhorn bib and his game day jersey on and made quite the impression in Wimberly.

On 9/11 Texas was at home to play Wyoming. It was great to be back in DKR honoring local heroes - police, firefighters, etc. The stadium was full and in that moment of silence for the victims of 9/11 it was hard to look around and think of 3000 people missing from the stadium in an instant! May we never forget!

Well that was a quick look at a little of our August! Not all of it. We said goodbye to a sweet friend, attended an Astros game and a Jars of Clay concert, had a colonoscopy :-0 (have you had yours?) and desperately missed my grandson who moved away! We are now looking forward to our trip to Greece!! Stay tuned...
