Once In A Lifetime Trip!!

It's funny how in one day a "once in a lifetime trip" quickly became a "once in a season trip"! Our BCS Championship experience was so remarkable that it is hard to imagine the Longhorns attaining that ultimate goal without us being there to support them!! Yes, we were blind-sided when Colt was taken out of the game but were euphoric when Gilbert brought us within 3 points of tying the game and pulling out a fourth quarter win! I am as proud of this team as I was the the 2005 Longhorns and though my heart broke for Colt I know that his faith has seen him through this disappointment!

In a recent article by Jason Blake he spoke about religion in football and the Longhorns.

"What makes the Longhorns unique is the quantity of players who are so open and passionate about their relationship with Christ.

Kicker Hunter Lawrence, for instance, looks forward to the handwritten Bible verse he receives from Shipley before each practice. Offensive lineman Tray Allen, punter John Gold and standout defenders Sam and Emmanuel Acho went on a mission trip to Nigeria last summer, and center Chris Hall is among the many Longhorns players who can quote scriptures as well as their playbook."

To all of the Longhorns that gave us a wonderful season and a memorable championship game we thank you. You played with heart and for many of you your actions on and off the field glorified the Father and for that no trophy here on earth can compare with your reward in Heaven! You have left a legacy of faith and character for those who are coming behind you and we as fans could not ask for more!
